Would you like to have a commitment ceremony? Would you like to be part of a large group standing together at our state's seat of power celebrating their love?
We are looking for committed couples who would like to take part in an event unlike any other.
Gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual and ally couples are all welcome.
Join us at the Mississippi State Capitol on November 7th as we team up with GetEQUAL, MS Stonewall Democrats, and The Dandelion Project for a celebration of love and marriage.
We will have Rev. Brandiilyne Dear of The Dandelion Project on hand to perform a ceremony for same-sex couples. As well, for trans and straight couples who would like to be legally married, this could be your day! There will be a reception immediately following at Smith Park, one block from the Capitol.
With the recent lifting of same-sex marriage bans all across the country, marriage equality is being seen as a done deal to many. Still, Mississippi politicians are claiming that it will never happen here. That opinion is based on a 2004 vote where 86% of Mississippians voted to ban marriage equality. That was ten years ago. Times have changed and it is time to show that by standing in our state's capitol and making our love known!!
